Another great one from Radiohead! Jul 12, 2010 In Rainbows is an appropriate title for another wonderful musical roller coaster ride from Radiohead. I found myself going from smiling and bopping along to crying when I listened to this one for the first time. They always manage to make me question my mental stability and yet I would buy anything that they put out without hearing one song. Their songs utilize instruments and sounds that are unexpected and whimsical and yet the rhythms are there to take you away.

It's All I Need!!! (This is all I need for my music collection) Jun 23, 2010 Quality of album: This album is simply amazing, words can't describe this masterpiece. You would think that there would be some weak link, one song that you just can't stand, but their isn't one. Of course, that is what Radiohead has been doing for the past two decades (90's and 00's). This album isn't one of those albums that hits you right over your head with its brillance, it's like wine. It really grows on you. It makes you think...
Change?: Radiohead is an alternative of what you commonly hear on the radio. They don't break glass and turn it into something they are not.
Which album is the best?: Many people say this is Radiohead's "Best." It's hard to say... only time would answer that question. The problem simply is you can't compare "The Bends" and "OK Computer" to "Kid A" because of style changes. Radiohead: Rock/ Alt, Jazz/ Electricona, Acoustic, Rock/ Pop, Pop, and a little bit of Blues... What can I say, they are accomplished, it makes me proud of my music: at least someone out there is producing classics that wouldn't wane over time.
Content: "I'm all the days, that you choose to ignore," another great lyric by them. If you are still wondering about the lyrics, they are obviously about how we effect the environment, where we live.
If Radiohead had its own radio station, that radio station would be the greatest! Just imagin... "Karma Police," "Everything in its right place," to "15 Step!"

Love It! May 15, 2010 This is my introduction to Radiohead. Can't say enough good things about it. Incredible disk. Favorites include Bodysnatcher which, unfortunately, I've been told is atypical of the Radiohead sound. They can really rock when they want to. Other favs include House of Cards, Weird Fish, Nude, Reckoner...Actually everything but perhaps track 5, which is a little weak.
Planning on moving on to more and unsure which direction to go. I'd like to stick with the more mainstream sound for now, before exploring the more esoteric stuff. Perhaps OK Computer?
I can't recommend highly enough. A very enjoyable listen. I've been drifting into house and down tempo stuff recently and this may pull me back to more guitar-based alternative.
I know this won't be particularly helpful for people reading reviews, but there are other, much more qualified music geeks with outstanding reviews of the disc that you can check out. I will say that if you're considering your first purchase of a Radiohead disc, this would be an excellent starting point!

A Return to Formless Form. Apr 12, 2010 There is little about Radiohead's seventh full-length album that will surprise the initiated, yet at the same time, there is something completely refreshing and utterly enjoyable about "In Rainbows." This ten-track set was originally offered up for the low price of nothing (or whatever you preferred to pay) via download, but is certainly worth investing not just your money but your time in it as well.
Restoring the band to perhaps their most organic (this word is being used very loosely here, mind you) since OK Computer or even The Bends, "In Rainbows" doesn't challenge its built-in audience so much as it satisfies them. The other-wordly textures created by guitarist Jonny Greenwood infiltrate each and every track, accompanied by a quirky rhythm section (see: "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi") strings and some synth. Singer Thom Yorke seems to be putting in his most energetic performance in years (especially when compared to 2003's Hail to the Thief) and on tracks like the sublime "Nude" and the semi-ballad "All I Need" he becomes an insrument all his own, blending in with the lush soundscape at hand, rather than sticking out like a sore thumb as he had a tendency to on previous recordings. The band, on the other hand, sounds about as cohesive as ever, and in spite of some slick production, manage to give off almost a garage-band-like vibe on songs like "Reckoner" and "Bodysnatchers."
For Radiohead fans, "In Rainbows" is about as close to comfort-food as it comes. It's surprising and yet unassuming at the same time. While some of the band's finest work took multiple listens to reveal their genius, this is a rarity in that it hits almost immediately. The only complaint that could be found within is that it seems to end too soon. One can't help but feel like this is two or three songs short of a masterpiece. Even still, whatever price you pay, you'll find this to be an album well worth the price of admission and proof that you can make alternative rock alternative again. One has to wonder if Radiohead are self-aware or if they just happen to stumble on this sort of genius as some sort of happy accident. I like to think its the latter and am hopeful that luck will continue to shine on them again in the future.

Seriously under rated album Apr 10, 2010 I think this is the best Radiohead since OK Computer (sorry Kid A). They get back on track and actually sound like a band and not a computer/techno group. Jigsaw Falling Into Place seriously rocks and it would be worth the album to score that track alone! If you liked the Bends and OK Computer then this is recommended for you!
